Thank you for your comments. And yes I should've given more thought on how to ask the question. But how do you strip the bark off a cedar post and then treat the wood so it won't decay?Helpful Reply -

You use a drawknife to remove bark. Then treat with something like Olympia https://www.lowes.com/pd/Olympic-MAXIMUM-Cedar-Naturaltone-Semi-Transparent-Exterior-Stain-Actual-Net-Contents-128-fl-oz/3019996https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=bark+removal+tool&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=153677200301&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2373717181493134487&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033057&hvtargid=kwd-4841000544&ref=pd_sl_5cy6chtq5w_bHelpful Reply -
