I got a new toilet and its not as wide as the prior one, now I see the wall was not painted behind the prior one. How do I paint the wall that shows w/o removing the toilet that was just installed yesterday?

Take off the top and use a very thin roller.

Remove the tank lid. Slide brown craft paper (or maybe newspaper) between the tank and wall and cover the sides. Pull the paper as tight as practical without tearing at stress points. Tape the paper to the sides or preferably to the front of the tank. Use a trim brush to paint the wall until covered and blended.

You can use strips of painters tape, install it vertically, and brush on the paint.
