How to spray paint without getting a rough finish?

I love to use spray paint but it seems like when I do especially when painting furniture no matter what I do I end up with a rough texture. I would love to know how to get a smooth even texture. Any help would be appreciated.

I am a little confused...if the surface is smooth I think the only way it would become rough textured is if you are spraying too much paint at one time without letting it dry. Maybe less spray paint, in shorter sprays? Or try a different brand of spray paint. This should not be happening. Good luck! -

I agree with Ficher Luce! Several light coats letting each coat fully dry will get you a smooth finish. -

No matter what your painting clean well first. Shake can well before you start and while painting. Paint on a day that humidity is low. Do not paint in direct sunlight. Do not hold can to close to what you are painting. Apply light even coats.
