How to whit wash or stain over old wood floors without sanding or stri

removed carpet from steps and will add a runner, what can I use to my hard wood floors. they have old varnish don't want to sand or strip would love to whit wash, can someone help

the white wash will not adhere if there is a finish on the floor
Hey Beverly. As Janet said, you have to sand or white wash/stain will not adhere. You could sand over the stain and about 2" around the stain and then restain using the same color as the original floor.
