any colour you like! If you want to showcase the chair, paint the wall a bold colour and match the trim to the chair colour. 😊
What other colors do you have in the room? Do you have other furniture? Curtains? Carpeting? Wood floors? - Things like that. Grey is a popular color right now. Can you find a grey that you like? Is it a bedroom? I recently painted a light soft green. I have another room in a soft greyish blue. (I like soft colors. A lot of it depends on the colors you like as well. You can buy a few samples of various colors and paint part of a wall to see what you like (be sure to feather the edges so that once you decide there won't be a 'paint edge'.

Any color you like. Cream is neutral.....if you go with earth tones it will blend nicely. Add a pillow for a pop of color. If you use blues, greens, lavenders or autumn tones it will still go well with your decor. I love gray tones on walls because you can accent with any color. Go to the paint store and collect a bunch of samples that correspond to your wall color choices as well as your furniture. At home, tack/tape them around the room to see how they compliment each other.
I have a cream colored sofa and love seat in my family room. I took an arm cover with me to the paint store and matched the background stripe to the paint. It turned out lovely in my large room with the vaulted ceiling and skylight. I use bright pillows, wall hangings and afghans for color. It turned out lovely. I have received many compliments on it.
Almost any color will work, but I think warm colors would look best. Then accessorize the chair with a pillow or throw in the wall color.
