Is there a paint available that gives a pearlescent effect?

Pearlescent to me is like the inside of an oyster shell. I want to paint a dresser with this look to it. If not paint, is there an easy process?

There is a mother of pearl varnish in the craft store. You might want to google first. -

Hi Dorothy! Yes, there are paints now that offer the effect you want. Your idea sounds as if it will be beautiful. I think the main tip is to keep the paint stirred well.
