As with all specialty paints, prep work is important. Sanded and clean.
Since real metallic paints are very expensive, I would first prime it with a tinted primer,
Or I would paint it with the bronze colored cheaper paint, as a base coat (see my brush strokes remarks below).
Since brush marks are going to show well in a metallic paint, then you need to think about if you want to use a roller or brush? Think about what direction you want brush marks. It will be part of the finished product.
This is the time to buy high quality roller covers and high quality brushes based on my experience.

Depending on what the white cabinet's base is, ie: latex paint, formica, etc... the safest would be to prime it with a bonding primer, (this is my favorite bonding primer!) That way it'll stick for sure. Then 2 coats of a bronze metallic paint. ( here is a lovely choice for that)
