You will have to remove the wax for the new paint to adhere correctly
I would sand off the wax before applying anything else. Otherwise, the wax should repel the next finish.
I believe you will be sorry if you do not do a proper job. Remove the doors and use a stripper to take the doors down to wood. Sand and tack cloth. Then paint. Good luck.
Prep is everything. Takes some time, because if you don't, your results will not look good or last.

You use mineral spirits on a soft rag to remove wax, not sure on the Annie Sloan wax so test first.
