Painting over old kitchen cabinets now they are chipping

Hi there, the key to a hard paint job that won't chip is good prep work before hand. Remove all of the paint that's there with a paint stripper and sand down the surface completely before using an oil based primer and then an oil based paint. I find the oil based are a lot tougher then the acrylics.Helpful Reply -

I agree with “GrandmasHouse DIY. If you didn’t prep properly, you will have peeling/chipping. Just sand and repaint area.Helpful Reply -

You will probably need to paint them again, and after painting, put 2 to 3 coats of polyurethane on them.Helpful Reply -
