Rub-n-Buff help!

Question

So I used silver rub-n-buff and 'painted' the stain glass metal on the interior side of my front door. It turned out okay but now I would like to remove it and go back to the original black. The bottle says to use mineral spirits to remove. I tried and it somewhat worked (still wouldn't take it off the crevices), and since it is a vertical surface, I cant exactly let it soak. 
Any other ideas on what I can do?

try a de-glosser paint it on with a small paint brush to saturate it good

Would you by change have any petroleum based furniture wax on hand? If I use too much Rub and Buff, clear wax will remove it. Good luck!

You can pick up one of those brass 'toothbrushes' I normally use one for cleaning paint brushes but they would work great for this.

Wax should take it off... but also they make a black rub n buff if all else fails!!

I used some once and it was too much so used the wax as suggested above. It really worked out great. Hope you have success.

I used Goof Off to take rub n buff of a lamp. It took some elbow grease but it worked.

Home Depot has a graffiti remover that will take paint and paint type product off surfaces. It doesn't matter how long it's been dried on either. This stuff rocks, it should work just fine for what you are trying to do.
