To chalk paint or not to chalk paint?

I have few pieces of furniture I plan on redoing. So far I really like chalk paint look. I haven't tried it yet. Reading lots of PROS & CONS. esp with finishing pieces with wax. Please share your experiences or recommendations

Chalk paint is just one of those really easy, no hassle paints (personal opinion
) and especially for amateur painters (like myself), I think it's a great place to start. Plus it looks great!
I have painted my kitchen cabinets and 3 bathroom vanities with chalk paint and white wax... we love the results. so easy and holds up well! Many colors and effects with different waxes... dark, clear, or white! We get loads of compliments... doesn't look like a desperate paint job.
I have also tried Fusion Mineral paint that has a look similar to chalk paint and covers just about every thing.
i have chalk painted a few pieces and really enjoyed the process. I even did a stencil on the top of an old little table. I stopped there because I am afraid it is one of those trendy things that are cool for right now, but what about the future....like oak cabinetry. This is just my personal opinion, of course.
