I agree. Pics would help. Carry your base color over into your kitchen from the rooms it connects to first. Then add your other "POP" color/colors.

Yellow is always a great colour for kitchens! As long as your "light" cabinets are painted and not natural wood. If they are wood, then go with a brick red.

I did my kitchen in a very light or mint green. Woodwork in a white-white. Everything looks clean looking. I can change with the season, accents. Fall is burnt orange pics, Summer is lavender with some green, yellow for spring or multi color is great. Everything is natural with green, just look outside. My vertical blinds at the sliding door are the same color green. It all ties together. Most of them don't come in colors. Plastic like could be painted if desired. Even put a stencil design on them. Wow, I just thought about that.

Forgot to mention yesterday, my kitchen is small. My first red kitchen was big! But I had white beadboard on the lower half. My new (soon to be red kitchen) is basically walls above, large drawers below. On the walls, I have open shelving. Again, have fun with your color.

My favorite 2 colors are Ralph Lauren's "Cottonwood"...a true khaki...and Benjamin Moore's "Healing Aloe"...which is what I call a light dusty green. Check these out. If you can get sample jars, pick a few and take them home and try them. "Cottonwood" would work in my kitchen but not in the adjoining den so I went with Bher's "Baked Scone" and love it!
