When is the best time to remove painter tape from your project?

I try to remove the tape right after painting (paint not entirely dry yet). Some tapes can stay longer but sometimes they are difficult to get off.

To be on the safe side take them off when the paint feels more or less dry to the touch.

As soon as you finish painting, pull the tape off carefully. If you leave it on, it justs gets harder and harder to get off and also will pull your base paint off. Just do it carefully pulling away from the item.

I paint 3 layers for barn quilts and leave tape on until completely dry and have no trouble removing. Sounds much like the same as your game.

try to immediately remove after painting , but be careful not to smear wet paint. The longer it stays, the better the chance you are going to tear the edges of dry paint. I always pull the tape off in the direction of the fresh paint...going the other way risks pulling paint into the area of the tape
