Can you paint ceramic tile?
-
Janet Pizaro on Apr 26, 2016Yes you can paint the tiles with proper preparation. Degreasing is your first step. I recommend using a natural product and not TSP which is extremely toxic. Next if the tiles are glossy you need to use a good primer to eliminate sanding the tiles. Once the primer is dry you can proceed to paint.Helpful Reply

Connie on Apr 26, 2016Yep! Clean, rinse well, allow to dry well! PRIME with a smooth surface primer like Zinser 1-2-3. Paint with a great gloss paint, or overcoat a clear gloss sealant to give the tile a shine.Helpful Reply

Kathleen on Apr 27, 2016Rustleum makes a product especially for painting tile. My backsplash was rusty colored tile (we got a good deal!), and I painted it white, then stenciled a grass pattern. I sealed it with a few coats of a heavy duty clear product to keep it clean. Everyone comments on how great it looks.Helpful Reply
