Can you paint kitchen cabinets that are not real wood?

I have light brown pressed board cabinets and want to paint them white. Is there any way I can do this?

after cleaning and degreasing, remove all doors, drawers and hardwar and use a product like liquid sand paper, then a qualiy primer like gripper before panting.

Everything is paintable,follow the necessary steps. Clean,prime and paint. Base your decision on the rest of your kitchen,floor decor etc.
