yesyears ago we did this, use a cleaner like TSP first, the pattern such as lines or stressed dents will still be visible but the paint will help lighten up the room. -

Yes, you can paint, but you'll still be able to tell it's paneling. If you don't want to see and clean all those lines, you can either remove it or put 1/4 inch drywall over it. Then you can paint it whatever color you want. -

Yes it can. I painted mine and my family room went from 1970’s to a really cute farmhouse feel. Make sure to clean the paneling well and caulk any corner edging. I lightly sanded and primed mine. Fair warning - painting in all those lines, especially at the ceiling can be a real pain, bu tits well worth it. -

Hi Diane, Yes. You can paint over paneling. If you would like the room to be brighter, paint with a light color. Mirrors will also help to lighten a room. They reflect the light. Hope these ideas help you. Good luck. -

Yes you can paint over the paneling. Go to your home hardware store to buy the special paint. A friend lightened heir paneling years ago and it came out beautifull.
