Is there any way to paint over pine wood walls with high gloss poly?

I love the wood walls, but want to paint them white. There's lots of detail. I know sanding is the best option, but will be the most work. I am on a tight budget and have a severe neck injury, so doing that isn't an option. Any ideas out there?

https://www.thespruce.com/using-sandpaper-and-liquid-sandpaper-deglosser-2879092This is advice about using liquid sander/deglosser, which you might find more comfortable to use.If you like the graining of the wood, consider whitewashing the walls rather than solid paint. Also, considering the details, whitewashing requires less perfection than pure white walls.https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/skills-and-know-how/painting/whitewashing-and-pickling-techniquesHelpful Reply -

Wipe down with a deglosser like Peso (ventilation a must) and lightly sand any imperfections you find objectionable. This will soften the top coat and allow for adhesion. Use a good primer before painting.Helpful Reply- See 1 previous
