Tim D. (The Retro Den) on Jul 30, 2015Here's one thought... Marine Grade Deck Paint... No latex... Oil based epoxy... The only way to go. Not cheap. Several thin layers with adequate drying time...Helpful Reply

Whomping Willow on Jul 30, 2015You don't say what the other project is. If it's on the floor I saw this: http://www.designertrapped.com/2013/11/how-to-paint-your-linoleum-floors-yes.html If it won't get alot of wear and tear then any paint with a top coat of poly should work. Dry brush a deluded white or gray on a sample piece, keep a wet cloth near, if you are not getting the effect you want just wipe it off and keep trying, good luck:)Helpful Reply

Z on Jul 30, 2015The only thing I can't think of to try would be a white glaze so you could still see the wood grain through it. Not sure it will adhere though. You could try with a bottle of craft paint so you're not out of too much cash if it doesn't work.Helpful Reply

Susen Gail on Jul 30, 2015, Painting vinyl works, but I sanded my bathroom floor, gave it a coat of Zinsners and then painted black and white tiles. It's held up very well for three years. However, to make the flooring lighter? I know that Annie Sloan chalk paint is a good product. You could dilute the old white to make a wash and retain the pattern of the flooring planks. Then use their flooring top coat that is clear. This might work for you. Just a suggestion. Happy Decorating! susenHelpful Reply
