Any real solutions to moles and voles other than catching them?

Douglas Hunt on May 30, 2011I'm sorry to say, Jerry, that trapping is the most effective and practical method of mole and vole control. Home remedies abound, but the results are inconsistent and generally ineffective. For a comprehensive look at the issue, see this fact sheet from Ohio State University's Extension Service:

Christine W on May 30, 2011I have a friend who drowned them. She literally set out big containers of water on a rainy day, and the next day the moles were in them. Kinda gross, but it worked.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jun 30, 2011Gas them. There is special products that a pest control person has access to that will gas them right in place. They simply light the gas stick push it into hole and seal it. Then as the gas comes out of the other holes they have dug, they plug them. Once done any critters living in those tunnels will be gone.Helpful Reply
