I'm going to gander wherever you are going, friends or family or a hotel can provide you with an iron. Pack it with your other clothes in a suitcase or if you have a Garment Bag, you can hang it in there and take.
I like to roll my nicer things and use a steamer when I get there also. A long dress should be no problem.
Roll it rather than fold it, and when you get where you are going you can stem it while you have a shower to get any wrinkles out :)
I travel often and find that rolling my clothing inside the suitcase it best for giving me lots of storage room and less wrinkles!
