We have an over the range microwave with a vent which is vented outside. When the wind blows it bangs constantly. I tried using a magnet to keep it closed but can’t use the vent. Any solutions to stop this noisy vent?

There are various ways that vents can be secured depending on what material the surface is, type of siding, and so on. Is it possible to post a picture of the loose vent, showing where it is and how it is presently attached? That way, more Hometalkers would be able to give answers specific to your situation.

Remove cover of vent and insert a light-weight spring (ball point). Use a metal bonding glue to attach spring to door and framing. This will allow air flow out and prevent animal intrusions.
