Sealing a double tub cement laundry sink

Question

I have just acquired an old laundry sink with double tubs. What product can I use to seal it just in case it leaks?

They advertise a spray called FlexSeal on television. They use a screen door that they've sprayed over as the bottom of a boat. It comes in colors, too. We've used it for several things and it holds up. That would work well - you could easily spray the whole inside to make it waterproof (mask drains first) Good luck!

My parents had these for the laundry,washer dischg., soaking. They never had a problem with leaks. Am sure
 it sealed itself from detergents. They felt kind of waxy 
inside. My husband says his mom bathed his brother and him in them when they were little kids. One on each side. These were concrete and not plastic.

I wish I had those old tubs again! They don't make a decent laundry tub like this anymore. My parents had the same style for about 45 years and never once had a leak.

If you are trying to seal the joints where the plumbing meets the sink, plumber's putty is the thing to use.
If it is Concrete, & it is the concrete you are trying to seal, then any concrete sealer should work.
if it is not concrete, then the plumbing is the only thing you should have to worry about.

Thank you all so much for your help. My sink is actually cement and now i have some great ideas on how to revitalize it to use on my back patio connected to my kitchen plumbing through the outside wall. Cant wait for this to be done so all the outside grime doesn't have to go down my kitchen sink.

Hi, if it's the same as mine (and u can check on the bottom of the tub where date and mfg is stamped) it is concrete and one solid poured piece. U shouldn't need to do any sealing. I just refurbished ours, put metal brush wheel on end of power drill and cleaned inside to get all old detergent and gunk out, then used sealkrete lockdown on inside then painted it with epoxycoat (grey) on inside and out. It looks great, made an old item like new. Also put new faucet on it. I wish it wasn't in my basement, would love it in my kitchen :) Good luck and hang onto it!

I would try as best u can to remove all the old 'seal' and whatever else then ty using a waterproof sealer. Loiok into the SealKrete items or Behr, I think those might be ur best bet and they are easy to get a big box stores :) I wish mine was in the yard when I worked on it, would have made it alot easier.
