Turn a piece of carpet upside down and put the fridge on that. Pull it across the doorway by holding onto a part of the carpet.

We put a piece of cardboard under our fridge to move it....Just slide it along the floor very slowly and you should be fine.

You can buy "magic moving pads" at home improvement stores just for this purpose. They come in packages with different sizes. Very handy and inexpensive!

In addition to the other suggestions, if you are doing this with two people, tip the fridge so it is just on the back or side corners depending on which way it is facing. It will be easier to move and be less resistant to sliding. You can also rent an appliance dolly from U-haul and other places

You can put the front part on rug, and then just move it over the raised edge. All will be fine, and the smoothness of this move, will amaze you. Best wishes, J.
