How do I patch a small hole in Sheetrock?

How small? If it is the size of a dime spackle but it is the size of a grapefruit cut out a piece of sheetrock and insert that and spackle around the edges and of course paint. -

If it's really small you can putty, sand and repaint. If it's a hole this night help https://www.lowes.com/projects/repair-and-maintain/patch-and-repair-drywall/project
