How do I repair a loose hook in drywall?

    remove the hook, put in a wall plug (you may have to fill the hole first with drywall compound and redrill for the plug depending upon how big the hole is) replace the hook into the wall plug

    If possible (Location) move the hook to one side or up /down; then repair old hole. Move both hooks if need be for two hook support. If using a plug, the back will need to be secured or it will fall out with the weight of item on hook.

    A little trick, is to dip toothpicks into glue and stick them into the hole until tight. Snap or cut off the remaining toothpicks sticking out of the wall, and you can replace your hook and it will have somthing to grab into and tighten up nicely. 😊
