What do I do to repair the damaged drywall above my bathtub surround?

    If it is actually damaged from being wet it probably need to be replaced.

    If it is just from the paint coming off you might put some tile on it.

    I am going to follow your question! I don't have tile.. YET.. for my backsplash in the kitchen. *sigh* I always assumed husbands were interested in making a nice house or doing repairs. Alas no. I JUST bought the tile for my backsplash, I have water damage like yours above my sink. I was also puzzling.. how do I fix this before I tile? I was thinking.. oh concrete patch... I have used that stuff on my bricks outside and thought of it for this... or actually cutting out the damage and putting in the concrete "sheetrock". I am going to see what someone suggests!!!

    I would consider having a row of bath tiles installed where the damage is.

    Spackle. Then paint.
