What To Do With Empty Rx bottles ?

Any ideas of what to do with all the empty prescription plastic bottles? Since my husband recently developed a heart condition, he now uses 11 different prescriptions each month. I feel guilty throwing them away all the time. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas.

Have you considered contacting your local grade schools to see if they might want/need them for crafting projects? Just a thought.

Bring them to the pharmacy and ask if they recycle them I would not reuse due the fact that there is probably some residue left behind even if you do wash them.

  • Not that this would help with what you currently have, but as my husband has so many Rx's and I hate separating them the day sorter, we now use a Pharmacy called PillPack. They put all the prescriptions into little packets according to the time of day so there's no mix-up. They also are perforated in each packet, so if you're gone from home at the time they're to be taken, just tear off the strip/packet you need and bring it with you. It saves on having all those extra Rx bottles to get rid of!

They can be decorated with beads and used for aspirin or pills, in your purse. Cute gift. Children also love to make these.

If you live where there is a free clinic, they may be glad to get them. I know some do take them to recycle
