What to do with glass shelving?

I have about 12 glass shelves I'd like to re-purpose without using them as shelves. Any ideas?

you could make a mini greenhouse with them, all depends on the size of the shelves i guess?

You could paint them or mosaic them, and hang them inside or outside, or use them on a tabletop. Would look really good with glass mosaic on them, with grout in between, or sponge different colored paint, and glitter, and top with the glass shelves and space them for the grout. You could turn them into suncatchers by glueing clear stones, rhinestone brooches, and bits and pieces you have lying around, maybe hang crystals on the bottom. You could paint some with gallery glass to look like stained glass, etc., etc.

Cindi, you just about covered every way. I wish I had those glass shelves to frame, then decorate with Gallery Glass, etc., for the holidays and seasonal sun catchers or maybe to LED light them to hang on the wall.

Only way to cut down a million answers would be to give us a size so we have something to work with. Picture frames of any size would be good for collections of pictures.

You can use them for hanging frameless artwork. The clips are very inexpensive (http://www.dickblick.com/products/ook-frameless-framing-clips/) - assuming the shelves are not too heavy.

I actually took some I had and used glass paints to make them look like leaded glass. Then I framed them and hung in my front windows.

I have three and I love them. wish I had more. I got some shelf brackets and put two in one of my window to put my plants on in winter.

Glass shelves can also help when wedding china, heirloom glassware, hand carved wooden bowls, and the like end up stashed in a kitchen cupboard. You may wish you could show off these items but not have room for a china hutch. Many kitchen cupboards can be transformed into display cabinets.

    1. Choose the cupboards that will be used to showcase your dishware.

    2. Have their door fronts replaced with clear cabinet glass.

    3. Have the shelves replaced with clear or frosted glass shelves.

    4. Arrange your items on the glass shelves for all to see and enjoy.
