Curtain trim, banding or other decorative details

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone out there can direct me to finding nice banding or trim to enhance some curtains I purchased for a reasonable price? I need about 10 yds. Ballard Designs has a beautiful trim, but too expensive. Suggestions? Thanks.

I would look in your local craft stores. Most usually offer coupons.

Check to see if you have a discount fabric store nearby. Here in the Atlanta area, we have an amazing discount store that sells fabrics and trim for pennies on the dollar. Another option would be to maybe stencil a design on the edge.

Great idea on the stencil....was thinking of stenciling the entire curtain but the edge is a great idea. Thank you. Should I use fabric paint or chalk?

JoAnn Fabrics has clearance trim. I also used fabric bought on sale and made strips of a contrasting color to go around . very cheap and looks great.

Try using an extra wide grosgrain ribbon. Ribbon often goes on sale and sometimes you can get it 50% off with a coupon. Grosgrain ribbon is very sturdy and easy to sew with.

Thanks Nancy, I started to look at the ribbon, was thinking I would use the Stitch Witchery tape to put it onto curtain. I will keep an eye out for the coupons. Thanks again.

Use the heavy duty wide stitch witchery. Works great.
