Should curtain rods match?

In a bi level home should the curtain rods in the living room be the same as on the patio door in the dining room? Also can they be two different curtains? TY

    why not buy curtain rods that complement each other, same color and different ends,, such as glass balls, metal looks like a leaf

    Because we have such weird-sized windows in our house our curtain rods in the living/dining room aren't the same, and neither are the curtains. They ARE in the same metal/color family though and I think they help to differentiate the different functions of the two areas.

    I agree with Denise! They should complement each other to create a flow from one room to other. Curtains can be different, but patterns and colors should be related. You wouldn't want geometrics in one room and florals in the other.
  • They should compliment each other if they are in view of each other. The different ends is a cool idea.
