Can you paint ceramic tile and grout?

Our floor is around 19 years old. The house has shifted and been leveled several times. From the shifting some of the tiles have hairline cracks as does the grout. I see on some of the diy shows so many things being done that I didn't know would work. We can't afford to put in all new tile so I was wondering if there is a process of painting or staining the tile and grout.

yes but the key is buying the right primer before you paint. Go to a paint store and ask what kind you need. Kilz I think will work but check.

There are special made grout paint tubes at the hardare store, formulated just for this purpose. However, you likely will still have cracks showing. Best to get out the dremel and grind out the old grout and put new. Do not believe there is a way to successfully paint tile. No way to have a good finish on it and it will likely peel off.
