3po3 on Jan 10, 2012I know people who have used zazzle.com and were happy with the product. They make posters up to 40x60, if that's what you're looking for: http://www.zazzle.com/custom/postersHelpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Jan 11, 2012Lee Anne: Here's a company that makes custom wallpaper and murals. I found them when I was thinking of making large blow-ups of vintage postcards. Didn't go through with the project, so I can't speak from experience, but it sounds like they could help you get what you want as long as you have images you like that you could scan and send them: http://www.totallycustomwallpaper.com/Helpful Reply

Rule4 Building Group on Jan 11, 2012Do you also know about dry erase board paint which can be applied to any surfaces? We are installing these in offices all the time now - the last job was in 10 boards in one office complex. You can apply the paint on any surface - walls, desks (great in schools), doors, pillars etc. There is a range of colors, not just white. Check out the manufacturers website, lots of great photos and ideas for use http://www.ideapaint.com/ . It may not be right for this project but you may find a use for it in the future. They are also great for home use, much cleaner than chalk boards - we have installed in kids rooms and basements. You can install the boards yourself (buy paint from HomeDepot) but it's quite a tricky application process. Rule4 are recommended installers in the Mid Atlantic region, contact IdeaPaint for their list in other states. I have one in my office and I love it, I use it all the time. So much better than the old (very small) board I used to have, I have my marketing plan on the wall for everyone to see!Helpful Reply

Culpepper Carpets and Interiors, Inc. on Jan 11, 2012Okay Douglas, you are my hero too! That is precisely what I was looking for! Thank you. @Marvin, these tech people are like grown up kids, they want color and stimuli. @Yamini, I do want to use the Simpsons, but in 5 foot decals and now I can have them made. @Martine, thank you, I will look at Etsy, Kass thank you & Ruled 4, I am planning to use magnetic paint for certain with a decal border but I have heard bad rumors from clients about the dry erase paint. They said you can not clean the marker off after a while, is this true?Helpful Reply

Martine Resnick @ Martine Louise Design on Jan 12, 2012anime or manga (if it's in the same context!) is Japanese Animation. Cartoons like Sailor Moon or Howl's Moving Castle. Or more modern adaptations - Dragon Ball Z or Pokemon (your grandson will like these soon enough!). However, as well as kids It's has a big cult adult following.Helpful Reply

One Man and A Hammer, Inc. on Jan 13, 2012How about checking with local centers of education, ask if any art students are willing to work with you on this project. Have a contest where the prospective "interns" come up with ideas, select a winner, then have them paint the walls. Most students would love to have this type of exposure and would probably charge very little, if anything.Helpful Reply

Amazing Improvements and Garages on Jan 13, 2012@ One Man, I've tried this on occasion and found the local centers of education as non-respondent. Unless you have this on the "planning schedule" for the following semester.... no go. I also tried going to the art department of a local college who would place a small ad on a bulletin board, (maybe). Unless you are tied in, its not as easy as it seems. Perhaps your ed centers are more liberal in these types of requests. Good Luck!!Helpful Reply

Rule4 Building Group on Jan 19, 2012Final comment about cleaning the dry erase board. This was the response to IdeaPaint " In terms of normal use, a dry cloth (like our microfiber cloths) or traditional whiteboard erase should work fine. You can also use a lightly damp cloth or rag to get the surface clean. You should not regularly require the use of a "cleaner," though after periods of extended use, an occasional wipe-down with a cleaner is fine as well." The damp cloth is great for the board in my office, especially for comments which have been around for a while. AllisonHelpful Reply
