Satin, Semi-Gloss or Gloss......

Question

When I get ready paint kitchen cupboards does anyone have any advice on what kind of paint finish to use? These will be new unfinished oak cupboards and my thought is semi-gloss or gloss just because they are in the kitchen and will need to be wiped down often.
 
Would appreciate any input and or painting experiences with type of project?

Gloss is the preferred finish, however you must have the surface prepped properly and really smooth as gloss finish will show up everything that is not prepared properly. If you fear the prep is not going to be perfect then the semi gloss will work fine.

I'm not a fan of shinny all that much. semi would be the upper limit for me. oak has some pretty open grain. So I would hit it with a good primer first and use a small detail roller to eliminate brush marks.
