I used Citristrip on a bunch of drawers about a week and a half ago.

All I did was aggressively wipe it off. Now that I'm ready to stain what should I clean it with first?

I helped my wife refinish a bookcase a while back. We cleaned off the citrus cleaner with mineral spirits, as recommended by the manufacturer. It worked great, but it did dry out the wood some, so be careful if it's a really valuable piece.

Thank you Steve. It is a very valuable piece. I will use mineral spirits then a pre-stain wood conditioner. I'm usually not nervous as mistakes can usually be remedied but as I said it is valuable.

Donna...I've used a green "kitchen scrubbie" to help with getting some of the residuals off. The "sponge" part helps keep it moist while working. (I'm actually working on a 7 foot long Mahogany table this week in my shop...I did the first coat of citrus stripe yesterday) I use odorless thinner to clean up between applications

I'm back in the shop later today after I finish up here on hometalk....I need the run my heaters down there before I can even think about getting started...we had -8 last night and my basement shop is not on the rest of the homes heating system.

Burrrrr - Where is Nederland? I lived in Colo Springs for 6 years I don't remember it being that cold.
