Doing laundry or cleaning the dishes?

That is an easy choice and thanks for asking. It is do the dishes! I'd be surprised if many other Hometalkers chose differently. You scrape them off, and wash them either in the sink or d/w. I have used both and doing them manually is quick and done. In the d/w, no one seems to enjoy putting them away.

Dishes for sure! Doing a load of laundry has more steps and takes up a bigger chunk of your day. Even handwashing and drying dishes is a one-and-done process!

Hi Amy: I don't mind doing either, but I'd rather do the dishes. I don't have a dish washer and enjoy looking out the window into my back yard while doing the dishes. To me, there is just something enjoyable about this. Plus, it doesn't take that much water and uses no electricity for drying, better for the environment.

    Doing dishes is easier.

  • Guess I’m the odd one out — laundry. Even with a dishwasher, loading and unloading, to me, is such a drag!

Either - They both need to be done - Load the washing machine and then wash the dishes. Unload the clothes and hang them out to dry., then go back to dishes that should now be dty and pack away. Bring in dryish cloths aand Iron or fold and putin airing cupboard or put away. All done - Time for Coffee! Yeh!!

I really do not mind doing either. I fold clothes while I am watching TV. I rinse the dishes for the DW. But I too do not like unloading the dishwasher. If I hand wash I use way too much water. And water is expensive where I live. The Dishwasher only takes 5 gallons each time.

Laundry, probably because I have fond memories of folding with my big sister as a child before she moved out (I was 4). Plus they feel good when they are fresh out of the dryer and the smell is so wonderful.

Dishes, yuck. Nasty, even though I wear gloves. I change the water often if hand washing because it's sickening to look at it. Then the drain is full of food bits. All gross.

I'm with you, yuk, that crap in the sink is gross. I find laundry almost therapeutic and it's rewarding to have everything clean and fresh. I even use to like ironing for the same reason. 😁

  • For me, I'd prefer clean the dishes. It's lighter work than laundry. 😂

    Do the dishes,

  • I like the laundry. I just bought a new washing machine and it's awesome, best one we've ever owned. Plus, I find the folding meditative!
