KMS Woodworks on Dec 11, 2011can you have someone briefly turn the water on while you have the filter removed to test the supply valve? I have had trouble with some small needle valves not cycling properly.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Dec 11, 2011If your filter system water turn off valve is the type that is clamped onto the water pipe most likely its either not open enough to work, or the rubber washer that seals the valve has shifted and blocked the hole in which the needle that punctures the pipe and creates the hole in which the water runs out. Check the valve once again where you turned off the water. My guess that is where the issue is. If you have a in fridge filter type of system you do not need to turn off the water supply. As you twist this filter it automatically shuts off the water to the fridge so you can change the filter without turning off the valve. You many need to replace the valve, but my guess it that you did not turn the little T handle enough to open it so water will flow.Helpful Reply

Dan F on Dec 11, 2011Thanks for your help. I think the issue was air in the line. It appears to be working now. I've even put the new filter back in. I probably shouldn't have shut the water off when I replaced the filter in the first place.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 12, 2011I like to avoid saddle valves when ever possible, for these very reasons. If you ever need to removed the valve you can not easily "plug" the hole.Helpful Reply
