Jacalyn on Nov 29, 2015If you want to stay with the black and white, put up a gallery wall of some of your favorite photos in black and white. Some of the picture to canvas places have good deals right now.Helpful Reply

Elizabeth on Nov 29, 2015Hang a drape/ curtain from the ceiling behind the headboard. You can change it out, using your black and white theme or choose a bright eye catching color. You could even use a sheet. leaves you open for lots of options. Can be very economical especially if you use plastic pipe as your curtain rod. Would love to see your finished project.Helpful Reply

Jim L on Nov 29, 2015For the black and white room to keep its interest, how about a "pop" of color over the bed...I suggest that you check around and find a "somewhat" large horizontal piece of contemporary art with several colors in it. To spark a bit more interest, add a couple of throw pillows on the bed to repeat one of the colors in the art-work.Helpful Reply

Lori on Nov 29, 2015I'm assuming you want to think of someway to make the cream linen not cream. Without a picture to go by, I am shooting in the dark here but what about taking some of whatever you have as bedding or drapes, assuming they are in the theme and covering the linen with it. If you could get extra pillow shams you might use them somehow. I am assuming there is a frame around the linen but if it's an upholstered piece, may take more material.Helpful Reply

Sandy Jennings Whitlow on Nov 30, 2015I hung a shell net over our bed and put some great shells in it. You create little pockets to hold the shells as you hang it. It gets lots of interest when folks come over and see it from the doorway. Makes a huge statement.Helpful Reply

Lisa House on Nov 30, 2015I would do something like one of these: a canopy that starts on the ceiling just above your heads then cascades down the wall behind your headboard, cover wall with a "curtain" as mentioned above, or a large piece of art. The art can be hung over the material if you use either of my other options as well.Helpful Reply

JC Sipes on Dec 01, 2015If you want to change the color of the headboard why not spray paint it? White or black would be obvious choices, but I would choose tomato red, chrome yellow or lime Experiment on a hidden spot, e.g. the back.Helpful Reply

Saz703268 on Dec 02, 2015A large piece of art is always nice over a bed. You can find ugly art in large frames at second hand stores and yard sales. Then go online and find a poster print that size or larger & cut it to fit, or paint or modge podge fabric over it. You can also do a grouping of 12" scrapbook paper in frames. A large mirror or 3 the same size would also work. You can add a curtain rod & put curtains behind your headboard. You could also get paintable tin panels that go on with 2 sided tape. Endless possibilities! In this picture, you could also hang a piece of art or mirror over the curtains from the ceiling, a designer trick.Helpful Reply

Snapoutofit on Dec 02, 2015Do you want to paint the wall behind the bed? I say paint a bold funky color that you can incorporate that color as accents in the room. Yes, add art but you need a backdrop. Fun!Helpful Reply

Debi53 on Dec 04, 2015Have you considered stenciling the wall? Hobby Lobby carries large stencils for walls & floors. I did this on my plain white hall & love it. You could go with a subtle tone on tone (cream & white or gloss on flat), bold (black/white or dk. grey/white), or bold (accent color on white). Any of these would be gorgeous and if you buy the stencil with Hobby Lobby's coupons, the stencil is only about $10; add a quart of paint and you have an entire wall of interest for around $25--and your labor!!Helpful Reply

Kathleen Mckirkle on Dec 06, 2015You could buy an indian wall hanging from ebay, they are usually highly decorative and come in all colours. Put tabs on the top and slide a black metal curtain rail through it, with black finials at the ends. Pick the colour you choose and add cushions or chair upholstery or whatever you fancy to high light and break up the black and white.Helpful Reply
