KMS Woodworks on Apr 07, 2013One of the leaders in ant bait traps.... http://www.amazon.com/Terro-PreFilled-Liquid-Killer-Baits/dp/B000HJBKMQ use boron as the active ingredient. so the use of borax sound legit. The sugar would attract some type of ants and the borax would finish them off.Helpful Reply

Margaret Merckle on Apr 07, 2013ty, I tried mixing jam and Borax yesterday...it was stiff though, so didn't work well....I dug into the bed with a piece of copper and they started racing everywhere, I was having to work in a hurry just to get the mixture in there though...there must have been millions there...anyway, I poured white vinegar into the bed, waited and they were still active. About an hour later, I poured about a cup of bleach in the hole I had made and all around it..something worked.....ty for ur help..Helpful Reply

Rose S on Apr 07, 2013Borax is good, but there is the white powder residue. I buy a product called Torro or Terro at Walmart. It is a very inexpensive liquid. You put it on a small piece of paper where you see the ants. They come, and come and come, feed and take it back to their nest and then they are gone. It takes about 48 hours, but works really well. Good luck, I just used some in the house. :-)Helpful Reply

Patty on Apr 10, 2013I mixed 1 cup of Dawn dish liquid with 2 gallons of water, poured around and all over mound. The ants either died or moved. I haven't had a problem with them returning to the bed around my crepe myrtle tree.Helpful Reply
