Growing currants

Hi everyone, glad to be back after a long hard winter here in MI. I have recieved two red currant cuttings and am wondering if there is anything special I should do to promote healthy plants? Any advice would be great. Thanks all and Happy Spring!

Beverly, currants are pretty easy to grow. Ideally they'd have full sun and slightly acidic soil. In my experience your biggest problem may be deer. If there are deer in your area, you will have to find some way to cage your plants.
