Refacing cabinets

3po3 on Jan 25, 2012I guess I always warn against fads. It's hard to go wrong with classic looks. If you want to get creative and colorful, consider funky cabinet hardware. It's easily replaced if the next owner doesn't like it. Designs by BSB on Jan 25, 2012if you are looking to update for resale, not a bad way to go. If you plan to stay in the home, I think its a bit of a bandaid and the money invested will not be highly valued. All too often in old designs, the layout and the hardware (drawer runners) is out of date and more of an annoyance than the overall look.Helpful Reply

Culpepper Carpets and Interiors, Inc. on Jan 26, 2012Glazes are current, paint in greys, greens, deep reds. Mixing colors is a current trend. For instance, one could leave the lower cabinets stained and glaze the upper cabinets in a beige base with a grey glaze and paint the island base grey.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Jan 26, 2012Refacing is an "option" to replacement...as is painting etc. The advantage to refacing is the counter and backsplash is normally left in place. further simplifying things. http://www.networx.com/article/about-cabinet-facingHelpful Reply
