Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Feb 12, 2012Sherrie, I am a certified dog handler (volunteer) for Canine Assistants in Milton, GA. I take service dogs in training with me and help them socialize in the world before they graduate. I don't do the training but I reinforce it and apply it in situations not on the farm. www.canineassistants.org and also there is a PBS television show: http://www.pbs.org/dogs-eyes I love doing it. It brings smiles to people every day when a dog enters the room and more importantly, these dogs bring such joy and help to the recipients and their families.Helpful Reply

Sherrie S on Feb 12, 2012Kevin, that is wonderful and very kind of you. I donate to National Education for Assistance Dog Services. I try to be careful when I pick my charities and look to charitynavigator.org to make sure the charity is providing the income to the program, not the CEO. Canine Assistants should sign up with them.Helpful Reply

Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Feb 12, 2012Sherrie, great that you do verify charities! Charity Navigator has rated Canine Assistants 3 or 4 overall and financial stars (out of 4). CA is also part of the Animal Charities of America and Part of the Combined Federal Campaign for federal employees.Helpful Reply
