Donna on Feb 11, 2016If you can cut or remove some of the horizontal shelves but leave others, you could turn it into a faux printers tray and use it for a display shelf.Helpful Reply

Angela Shumate on Feb 11, 2016I would take some wood scraps and create a 45 degree lean-to on the back and remove a few slats to make a sewing thread organizer, even leave a few without taking some slats out to organize bobbins - hope this is a good idea. You need to make that 45 degree lean-to in order for the bobbins and thread to stay in the unit otherwise they would fall out.Helpful Reply

Angela Shumate on Feb 11, 2016Or............. get a piece of Plexiglas or regular glass cut to fit over the dividers, since the dividers are set back, just enough as a matter of fact to fit that Plexiglas or glass in, then put handles on the side to make a beautiful service tray ( bed side tray )Helpful Reply

CK on Feb 11, 2016Lots of ideas come to mind....it all depends on what your style is ;-) My first thought is to stain it a little darker and mount it to the wall and just use it for a textural element in your room. You could also get (or make) some small letters to place in the openings here and there and spell out a word...or just get random letters ;-) It would look like a wood printer type press drawer as shown. You might even be able to remove a few of the dividers to change out the size of the openings. Get a drawer pull to add to the top and you've got a pretty good "knock off". :-)Helpful Reply

Mar1554057 on Feb 11, 2016I removed the insides. Filled in any holes. Added two handles. And it becomes a tray. Used old spoons for the handles. Bent them drilled two small holes in each and attached with screws. Either paint or stain and can add stencil or wallpaper to bottom. This can also be hung on wallHelpful Reply
