Old dining room table

I inherited a drop leaf dining room table.I cannot get the drop leafs stabilized.I was wanting to make it all 1 piece. Help!!

loose hinges? or the support mechanism for the leaves when in the "up" position?

I have changed the hinges and the metal rod that screwed to the table and I still cannot get the drop leaf from drooping .I leveled the table when I was fixing it. Help!

can you post a pic of the mechanism? If the rod are out of alignment of bent this could be part if it. if the rods can be rotated try that first. any "bend" in the rod will show itself during this process.
