MN Mom on Apr 27, 2016I have a verticle blind installed on the interior side of my slider. That way I can close off the porch and close the blind for privacy so the interior if my home isn't visible from the porch. I also have roller shades on each window of my porch so if those are drawn, the inside of porch is not visible from outside.Helpful Reply

Jean Myles on Apr 27, 2016I had vertical blind on my South facing patio doors. I just had the kitchen painted and will be putting up a new set and in front of them I will be hanging a pair of drapes that go with the colours in the kitchen and living room. I really don't like verticals but need them to keep out the summer sun. I tried just lined drapes and they only lasted 2years and then they looked bad from the outside. Hopefully someone will come up with something more creative .I will be following this post to see if someone has any new ideas.Helpful Reply

Gail Dener on Apr 28, 2016We do, too, a triple slider. Installed a valance at the top (use really pretty fabric) and then vertical blinds to cover the glass at night. During the day, they stack almost invisibly at the sides; they're installed under the valance.Helpful Reply

Mizzzmillie on Apr 28, 2016I have used a reversible quilted coverlet hung on wooden rings and an 8' long wooden closet pole with wooden brackets. This extends past the doors allowing all the light in and with the rings the quilt slides very nicely. It also made a good insulting factor. I also used wide ribbon, cup hook and plastic ring sewn to the ribbon as tie back.Helpful Reply

Becky P on Apr 28, 2016I had a sliding french door, and I just used a rod with a grommet curtain on it. Google patio door curtains to get one large enough, or sew two curtains together. Previously, I had a patio curtain on a traverse rod. (intensely dislike vertical blinds!)Helpful Reply
