Mary Ker on May 06, 2016It all depends on the type of atmosphere you are trying to create. Your furniture looks casual and comfortable, as is the first rug. The second and third rugs are more elegant and formal so if you use them you might want to make other changes to the room to support that feel, or the room will always feel a little fractured, stylistically.Helpful Reply

Nancy Gramm on May 06, 2016You've gotten some good advice; the Generations would go beautifully with what you have. Also, I'd like to echo Yvonne's suggestion, with a slight modification. To quote a designer, "An area rug should at least meet the feet of the furniture on both sides of the space. You do not want to disservice your room by going too small. The wrong size rug brings your eye in, making the room feel smaller and disrupting the flow." If you'll notice in the pics you posted, the furniture feet either rest on the rug or meet the edges. I'm not sure a 4' x 8' would do this for you, but you could tape together some pieces of newspaper into that size and see how it works. At any rate, good luck to you. Hope you're happy with whatever you decide.Helpful Reply

Cindi on May 06, 2016I also like the first one, it brings in a little color, everything else is too neutral (beige, brown, etc.)Helpful Reply

Centsably Creative on May 06, 2016I believe the first rug would go best BUT you have a lot of dark pieces and the Gabriel drop stitch (the last rug) would look great AND brighten up the combo best. My professional opinion.Helpful Reply

Centsably Creative on May 06, 2016I do want to add one more item...The wool rug is going to be the easiest to clean Wool is the most naturally stain resistant material you can buy in flooring. it will feel better and last longer. It will shed in the beginning but it won't go threadbare so don't worry about that. I only buy wool for my home. That is a beautiful rug also. Polypropylene will hold stains BIG TIME ! so.....Helpful Reply

Lgsmith on May 08, 2016I don't like any of the rugs. I would use a large oval rug. The square rugs gives the room such sharp square corners and an oval would let you place the furniture in a semi-circular placement. To me that would be much more inviting,Helpful Reply
