Anyone with ideas how to add/build a cabinet around a laundry sink?

Builder put in the ugly laundry sink - the kind that is bolted to the floor. Is there some type of cabinet that can be added - both to hide this eyesore and make the area below useable storage?

If the cost or logistics of having a cabinet build around it are prohibitive, you could "skirt" it with fabric. The outdoor fabrics come in fabulous prints and colors and are very water and soil resistant!

I really prefer a cabinet of some sort. The fabric option isn't really an option. I was hoping there was some ready made option.

  • No. you would need to have something custom made to surround the sink. Which I assume is a plastic tub with four metal legs?

right, plastic tub, 4 legs. Ugly. Thanks.

  • Your best bet is to just take it out and put a concrete countertop and concrete sink in its place. Theres really not too much that will stick to the plastic to camouflage it with........ Just go with a concrete sink and countertop :)

  • They make stainless deep utility sinks that can be installed in a vanity type cabinet with a laminate top. Although concrete top and sink will withstand just about anything you can throw at it, its just too heavy of a project for the DIY type person to handle.

  • Woodbridge, thats when you call us :)

  • Look for an older dresser at goodwill or thrift store with solid frame & dovetailed drawers. You can cut the drawers down on the side where you will drop in the laundry sink....and shorter the other portion of the drawers to use as storage. We've done this several times with good results

Thank you Handy Andy. That sounds like an option.

Cheapest way would be a skirt with some plastic storage bins underneath.
