How to kill weeds in a sandy playground

Our neighborhood sand playground is between the woods and a grassy field. I guess because of all the rain we had this year the weeds are coming in strong. Any thoughts on a very effective, non-chemical way to kill them?

You could possibly try this organic weed killer http://avengerorganics.com/AboutUs/tabid/67/Default.aspx I have had some of this product in the nursery when it first came out (The inventor was a customer!) I had some success with it using alot of it on hotter days.
