Boil first to clean. Cut into discs. Paint with whatever design you like. Add piece of wire to make wine glass markers. .
Maybe make a pretty cork wreath?
You could use them to make to make wonderful drink coasters with them or as vase fillers as a home decor. :)

I like to use them as a drainage layer under dirt in pots. Lighter to move than stones, but allows water to pool away from plant roots.
