Cindi on Jul 29, 2016I have privacy film on my bathroom window, that allows light, but you can't see through it. I'm sure they have the same to block the light. It's fairly cheap and easy to apply. If you want curtains, there are block out curtains that block the sun, but if you want to keep the basic look you have, I'd look for the film.Helpful Reply

Kathy Bitzan on Jul 29, 2016Joanne's carries the black out fabric if you sew. It is not inexpensive so take a coupon... Or just buy the black out curtains and hope it is dark enough. I know where I live they just cut down a tree so now I have no shade from the hot afternoon sun. So I am looking for something for my patio door.Helpful Reply

Sheryl Gilliland on Jul 29, 2016A flannel backed vinyl table cloth works great. Flannel side out, looks like drapery lining outside. I used push pins on the window frame all around, no light.Helpful Reply

Alan on Jul 30, 2016Cindi is right on the money here, there is window film available that is fantastic, it is very similar to the tinting that they put into car windows and there are many tint shades to choose from just stay away from the mirror ones as they look terrible, I have found the best one to be the ones that during the day you can see out but no one can see in, but be warned it reverses at night when you turn the lights on, it also stops the Sun from fading your things. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Window_Film/Solutions/Markets-Products/Residential/ 3M has it check it out.Helpful Reply

Shi2449252 on Aug 01, 2016This may sound crazy but when my husband was working 3rd shift I covered my bedroom windows with a pretty, dark wallpaper which matched my room. Problem solved! It's easily removed from glass.Helpful Reply
