What to do with empty pill bottles?

What can I do with a bunch of empty pill bottles besides using them as storage for tacks, pins, screws, cotton balls or whatever. I have various shapes and sizes. Thank you. :)

This has come up several times. Honestly I would check your local pharmacies, hospitals and nursing homes to see if they have a need for them.

Our local humane society uses them. We give them all of ours.

This is a great idea, however, as I am in Canada, I will see if there is something similar here. Otherwise, I will look into this further. Thanks Verna.

I use them to store seeds from my plants too & decorate the bottles & label.

Scouts use them to make mini pocket sewing kits and/or fishing kits. (Cub, Boy & Girl Scouts.)

I am a Canadian Pharmacist. We do not take back used pill containers. However, they are recycleable so they can go in the blue box. However, if you want to make use of them, they are good in the sewing room for buttons, needles, pins, snaps, broken needles (i have broken needles on my sewing machine several times). They can also be used as sharps containers for used lancets after blood glucose testing.

Lots of ideas if you Google "reuse for pill bottles." I glued a flattish rock on top of 1 with E6000, placed a spare housekey in a small plastic ziplock bag inside, and placed it in rock garden in front yard. It has "saved" me twice now, although that is reusing just one bottle. I like the little snowman containers I saw when Googling as noted above, and plan to make them for money holders this Christmas (http://www.diyncrafts.com/11126/repurpose/30-genius-ways-to-reuse-and-repurpose-empty-pill-bottles).

You can put them on Freecycle.org and groups like G e o c a c h i n g use them for their searches. Check them on Youtube. Freecycle.org is a really neat site, free to use and post. The main thing is everything you want to get rid of has to be free. There are places all over the USA for Freecycle. Check them out too:) Or, if you want to use them, check out Pinterest.com, you can find anything on there!
